Tomar la decisi\u00f3n de dejarlo es todo un desaf\u00edo; por eso, es importante la creaci\u00f3n de programas de apoyo para lograr este objetivo.<br \/>\nDejar de fumar tiene muchos beneficios:<br \/>\n\u2022 20 minutos despu\u00e9s de abandonar el h\u00e1bito, el ritmo cardiaco y la presi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea comienza a disminuir.<br \/>\n\u2022 12 horas despu\u00e9s, los niveles de mon\u00f3xido de carbono en sangre bajan a niveles normales.<br \/>\n\u2022 De 2 a 3 semanas, la circulaci\u00f3n mejora y la funci\u00f3n pulmonar aumenta.<br \/>\n\u2022 De 1 a 9 meses, disminuyen la tos y la dificultad para respirar. Se limpian los pulmones y se reduce el riesgo de las infecciones.<br \/>\n\u2022 1 a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s, se reduce a la mitad, el riesgo de enfermedad coronaria.<br \/>\n\u2022 5 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, se reduce a la mitad, el riesgo de c\u00e1ncer de boca, garganta, es\u00f3fago, vejiga, cuello uterino y de accidentes cerebrovasculares.<br \/>\n\u2022 10 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, el riesgo de morir por c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n, de laringe y de p\u00e1ncreas, se reduce a la mitad.<br \/>\n\u2022 Adem\u00e1s de reducir el riesgo de diabetes, fomentar un mejor funcionamiento de los vasos sangu\u00edneos y mejorar la funci\u00f3n cardiaca y pulmonar.<br \/>\nAdicionalmente:<br \/>\n\u2022 Las comidas tienen un mejor sabor, pues se restauran las papilas gustativas.<br \/>\n\u2022 El sentido del olfato vuelve a ser normal.<br \/>\n\u2022 Mejora el aliento, el olor del cabello y la ropa.<br \/>\n\u2022 Los dientes y u\u00f1as cambian su color amarillento.<br \/>\n\u2022 Hay m\u00e1s aceptaci\u00f3n social, ya que existen muchos espacios libres de humo.<br \/>\n\u2022 Disminuye la aparici\u00f3n prematura de arrugas y la ca\u00edda de piezas dentales.<br \/>\nSi algo hemos aprendido este a\u00f1o es a respetar y cuidar nuestro cuerpo; adoptar buenos h\u00e1bitos de vida y fomentar una vida m\u00e1s saludable.
